The chefs at Bites By Eydt bring their heart and skill to every dish, ensuring that whether you’re having a cozy dinner, cocktail party or family celebration, the food sparks joy, lively conversation, and wonderful memories.
Our founder, Dick Eydt, earned a degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and spent 15 years in the fine dining world, with experience at renowned establishments including Windows on the World in New York and Opus Restaurant in Los Angeles—the sister restaurant to Le Bernardin. He later transitioned into a marketing career but never lost his passion for food and hospitality.
In 1996, Dick began hosting restaurant-quality meals for friends and family, featuring inventive dishes like BLT pizza, roasted pear and gorgonzola flatbread, and sundaes topped with Toblerone chocolate and pizzelle cookies. As his menus evolved to include refined small plates and elegant entrées, so did the demand for his signature approach: quality catering with a fun, personal flair.
As the founder of BitesByEydt, Dick now curates bespoke in-home dining experiences with a hand-selected team of elite chefs. His decades of industry expertise and eye for detail ensure that every event is effortless, elegant, and deeply personal. At BitesByEydt, luxury catering becomes more than a meal—it’s a memorable event for you and your guests.
Dick’s team includes a classically trained chef with 25 years of distinguished experience. This artist graduated from a respected culinary school in Rhode Island before honing his skills in New York City’s demanding restaurant scene, including a tenure at one of NYC’s vegetarian Michelin-starred establishments, Dirt Candy. His career took him to the world of private chef services where he worked as a personal chef for Madonna for almost a decade as she and her family toured the world.
Since then he’s become a sought-after private chef for other entertainers including Jennifer Lawrence, Bruce Springsteen and Pink, but enjoys a break from tours to cook for BitesByEydt clients. When it comes to his own culinary favorites, he’s known for his plant-based and elegant flavor combinations including his signature white cauliflower soup and a perfectly executed jalapeño schmear on toast points.
Outside the kitchen, he finds balance in pottery—designing custom plates, mugs, and tableware for the families he serves.
Another chef on the BitesByEydt team is a Southern native with over two decades of culinary expertise. After beginning his career in Charleston, South Carolina, he refined his skills at the Culinary Institute of America and went on to work in several notable New York City kitchens. Drawn back to his roots, he returned to the South to make his mark on the Atlanta fine dining scene. He has built a respected reputation in fine dining, holding leadership roles at private clubs and serving as a personal chef to high-level executives in the Atlanta area.
When not in the kitchen, he enjoys spending time on the golf course or experimenting with new ingredients and techniques. He is married and brings a sense of warmth and tradition to every plate he prepares.
The third culinary leader at BitesByEydt boasts more than 20 years of hands-on culinary experience, rooted in excellence and operational expertise. He began his professional journey in well-known Atlanta restaurants, earning his way to become an Executive Chef. Noted for his mastery of techniques and consistent execution, he was tapped to lead training efforts across the country.
His creativity and leadership shine in his mastery of large-scale events—including his signature oyster roasts for crowds of up to 200 guests. His food philosophy blends tradition with innovation, always rooted in flavor and balance. A devoted father of two, his passion for creating delicious meals has led him to create a meal-prep company focused on delivering healthy meals with a southern twist to busy families.
